The weather held out for this youth proficiency scheme tutors course in air rifle. The Dawney Centre, just outside Easingwold in North Yorkshire, played host to the weekends course. Run largely outdoors, using the range on site, we could have had a very damp weekend in the Yorkshire countryside. The sun shone (most of the time), as did the course candidates, making for a great weekend. Lot’s learned about air rifle shooting and Scouting from across the county.
12 leaders from around North Yorkshire attended and completed the course successfully and will now be planning to incorporate air rifle shooting into their scouting programmes in the future. Many thanks to the 1st Easingwold Scout Group for the use of the centre. We were able to use the site on the first weekend after the official opening of the new building. Thanks also go to Easingwold District Commissioner Gary Roberts for organising the course.
